Pre Production
In the planning stages for our opening sequence, we used certain technologies to help this process.
Technologies I used:
-
Blogger is the website we used to record our research process. This was good to use because it was online and during covid times it was easy accesible, and meant we could continue adding to our research even during lockdown.
I used Amazon to purchase the props we needed for our sequence. We purchased, makeup, fake blood, glasses etc... Amazon was good to use because we could do it from home (lockdown), and we could order next day delivery so we could get last minute bits.
YouTube is another software I used during pre production to watch a variety of horror films for inspiration. It was good to use for screenshots, videos were free which and I was able to embed these videos on blogs and presentations easily.
My phone and laptop- I used my phone to take pictures and videos for research, and to communicate with my group. I used my laptop for YouTube, Amazon, Stream, Teams.
Outlook is the mailing service our school provide for communication. I was able to communicate with teachers and other staff members such as the drama teachers for props and students for acting etc...
Imessage was what my group and I used to communicate because it was the most convenient- it is free and all of my group members had easy access to it.
During lockdown I practiced shooting master shots and coverage, and edited these using Imovie. Imovie was good to use as it has some similar aspects to Premier Pro, which helped me in the long run for the editing process. It was also good to use because it is free and accesible from iphones and laptops, and it does not requite Wifi so I was able to edit anywhere
A website I used over lockdown was 'Art of the Title' for inspiration on titles and carry out research on Saul Bass. This was a good website to use because it has so many resources for free and helped with inspiration. I was able to do all my research on the Bass's on this website as there was so much information.
Over lockdown, during online learning, the way teachers communicated with students was via Microsoft Teams and Stream. This was easily accesible and videos on Stream were pre recorded. This was good because it meant if I missed a lesson I could easily catch up and watch the videos how ever many times I wanted, The Pre recorded videos were good for things such as note taking.
